Sorry for the delay in posting. I have my Procaster up and runnning inside of my house. It is positioned on the second floor landing with about two feet of the antenna extending into my attic. I am physically disabled and I can't drive, so I've been waiting for my wife to return from a business trip so we can head out and assess the coverage area. When I have some numbers to give you I will post them. I'm thinking that will be in a few days.

The Procaster arrived by UPS in perfect condition. Assembly of the antenna and wiring between the transmitter and studio interface were no problem. The really cool thing about this unit was the ease of tuning. With the on board meter you can't go wrong!

Thanks to Gerry and the good folks at ChezRadio for making it SO easy to get on the air!!

I forgot to mention that my Procaster is inside the house right now because I live in Wisconsin! There is about six inches of snow and ice on the roof and the ground is hoplessly frozen solid. When the spring thaw arrives, the system will be moved to a permanent exterior location. The antenna will be roof mounted and a ground radial system will be used.

Gronsk - glad to hear you found it easy to get up and running. We are also frozen in up here in Canada right now. Our test unit has been outside since last summer and has endured baking heat and humidity to freezing rain, snow and howling winds - it keeps on ticking. Can't wait for the Spring! If you want to install ground radials, you might find the ground frozen for a while longer.

Diradio, thought you might be interested - MLR has done a review on www.part15.us and Steve from Radiobrandy is about to do a review and it will be posted on www.radio-info.com in the near future.

Gerry--
I'll be looking to the reviews. My plans progress for a part 15 on a barrier Island off the coast of ALabama-- can't wait for gronsks report on range. Was looking at rangemaster--but if I get reports of a mile range I'm in.

"Part 15 on a barrier island"

Wow - am I jealous. If you can get your ground connection anywhere near that salt water you've got the potential to get great range.

LPRGUY;

That's what I'm hoping. I'm looking at expanding range by running two TX--and feeding them by cable audio. BY the way--enjoy your blog

Gerry,

Congrats on how well received the Procaster has become in the Part 15 community. It was a pleasure to review your transmitter for the serious hobbycaster. I wish you continued success.

Congratulations on a great review from Hobbycaster.net! The review has reinforced my decision to purchase your product. Now all I need is the time to finish my install! Congrats again.
